Mark began his finance career with Lloyds Bank in the late 70's and entered management within 7 years. Having gained this position and the related professional qualifications, he gained exposure in the corporate banking sector with The Cooperative Bank The role moved into a mixture of new business and client management where he handled Local Authorities, large retail, nursing homes and licensed trade clients.
Experience in the traditional market sectors such as manufacturing was gained at NMB Heller Structured Finance arm (now GE Commercial Finance) and an ABN AMRO subsidiary. Here he grew a sales structured finance team covering the South West and South Wales, packaging finance deals for clients up to 50m turnover and constructing funding lines up to 10m. Work involved structuring deals such as MBO/MBI transactions in the SME sector with involvement around working capital assets including stock and debtors. Experience with equity raising and asset finance resulted.
After a further 4 years, left corporate life to establish a finance consultancy business. Through his contact base established over 25 years in the finance sector he is able to place finance ranging from bank refinancing through to raising private equity. He holds a number of retained consultancy positions with funding sources including Private Equity networks and specialist working capital funders.
